Challenge 119

Summer is just around the corner and we are excited to introduce our summer church VBS program, “Challenge 119”.  Challenge 119 was inspired by Psalm 119, a chapter dedicated to celebrating the power and importance of God’s word.  This program is designed for churches to help children and students to grow in their relationship with Christ through scripture memorization, while providing them an opportunity to engage in the amazing work God is doing in the lives of refugees through Heart for Lebanon.

Students are encouraged to raise money by finding family and friends who will sponsor them  by pledging to give a dollar amount for every bible verse the student memorizes during the campaign.  Funding raised will be used to provide Christian education, discipleship, and life sustaining care for refugee families.

If your church is interested in partnering with us through Challenge 119 please email info@heartforlebanon.org for more information.

Richard, a very shy student in our H.O.P.E. (Helping Overcome Poverty through Education) Program, used to not pay attention in class and was afraid to speak out loud. Our teachers saw his shyness and made a collective effort to get to know him more and encourage him. When they did, Richard became more willing to pay attention in class and his behavior improved dramatically.

In the second semester of school, Richard proved that he could excel in his studies regardless of his shyness. Little by little he improved in all areas of his life. He also has an enthusiastic attitude towards the Bible study sessions. Richard loves to ask questions about the Bible and he always searches the Bible to learn new verses.
