H.O.P.E. Educational Program Updates

The 2017/18 H.O.P.E. Educational Program has a few new items.

Today our H.O.P.E. (Helping Overcome Poverty through Education) Educational Program has 300 children learning Arabic, English, math, music, leadership development, and Biblical characteristic traits in a loving and safe environment.

Heart for Lebanon believes the Syrian refugee children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow in their homes, communities, their nation, and on the world stage. Therefore, we are committed to infusing Biblical character traits and leadership habits into them.  At its core leadership is about courage and influence, not just position and title. We believe that everyone should have the skills to help create a bright and positive future.

This is one reason we have added Leadership Habits to the subjects we are teaching this year.  Our core curriculum is based on Steven Covey’s book, 7 Habits of Highly Successful People. Covey presents a leadership approach to being effective in attaining goals by aligning oneself to what he calls “true north” principles.

We also use and incorporate Growing Leaders, Habitudes, by Tim Elmore. This helps us train our teachers and then our students to use the power of images, conversations, and experiences to illustrate thirteen key principles on healthy character.

Fourth grade has been added in all three of our H.O.P.E Educational Programs this year.

Please pray for our teachers and students.
