This is a time of both unparalleled need and an unprecedented opportunity. There is no one organization that bears the entire responsibility alone. Heart for Lebanon’s response as a faith-based organization is: We are doing for 3,000 what we wish we could do for 6,000.
The crisis around the Syrian civil war has shaken our conscience with images of innocent men, women, and children suffering from the devastation within their own country, while living and surviving as refugees in Lebanon having left everything behind. Families living as refugees are asking the same questions that you do. Through relational engagement we help each refugee family see themselves through the eyes of Jesus Christ and how He sees worth in every person.
Today we stand at the crossroads of this dark moment in world history as it refers to Syrian and Iraqi refugees. Yet we have a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus with those who are suffering the most. We have a wide open door in Lebanon to share Him with Muslims and Christians alike, by showing His compassionate heart to those who have been severely affected by the worst humanitarian crisis in recent history. This is a unique opportunity that sits at our doorstep, an opportunity to reach seeking refugees right where they are living.
This is our time, our moment in history, and we are asking you to join us by investing in Insurgence of Hope – by praying and financially giving this summer. This door of opportunity will not remain open forever so we must act now. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of families who are living among us. Our prayer is that each refugee will experience Christ-like compassionate care by receiving physical, emotional, and spiritual nourishment because of our partnership.
We are praying for $900,000 in 90 days this summer. This will give us the power and financial resources for an Insurgence of Hope – to fight despair with the Hope of Jesus Christ while the opportunity is still strong.
