While we believe that transactional relief is extremely important to the well being and future of those in need, we also believe when done properly it is a natural opportunity for conversations. Conversations are vitally important in any culture but especially in a Middle Eastern context and become a key way for the people we serve to express themselves on many topics – thus relational relief is the next component in holistically serving.
Once the family has been given practical care in the form of meeting basic needs of food and shelter along with education for children, we work to address the emotional and spiritual needs of families through regular home visits, monthly spiritual programs and children’s activities building lasting and authentic relationships, allowing us, at the proper time, to share our personal journey which includes our love of Jesus Christ. It is the conversations that lead to real change, even transformation. Once a relationship has been developed transformation can begin.
