Spiritual Formation Ministries
What drives Heart for Lebanon is the compassionate heart of Jesus Christ. Experiencing this unconditional love is what influences the refugee families to ask questions like, “Why are you helping me?” This gives us the opportunity to share our own experiences of forgiveness and reconciliation. Heart for Lebanon believes reconciliation through spiritual discipleship is a process and not an event. Heart for Lebanon’s goal, after building authentic relationships with families, is to invite them to attend Bible studies, women’s gatherings, and special events in order to share the gospel with them.
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 NIV
Worship Gatherings
Heart for Lebanon uses a holistic, unconditional approach in its ministry; we lead refugees into spiritual conversations, and over time, invite them to attend a Bible Study. Our model includes Family Care and H.O.P.E. (Helping Overcome Poverty through Education) education program allowing us to have an access ministry into the lives of Syrian Refugee children and their families, for which we are most grateful! This access opens the door for our Team to visit families in their tent home and build trust with the family members. After trust is built, spiritual conversations can begin and people start attending Bible study.
Heart for Lebanon’s discipleship program led by our team of totally sold out followers of Jesus Christ and God’s favor has allowed the planting of two Muslim Born Believers Worship Gatherings. The Worship Gatherings are held in the South and Bekaa, with Muslim Born Believers attending. Each Worship Gathering has a children’s “Sunday School” and a weekly prayer time. The Worship Gatherings are a result of the many who are being discipled in our Bible Study program each month. One Worship Gathering was started in late 2017 and the other one in early 2018.
Community Leadership Development
Out of the Worship Gathering environments a group of discipled believers are building a new community of servant leaders. These new Muslim Born Believers are leading others to faith in Him and are discipled to grow in their faith and to follow Jesus with humility and integrity. Heart for Lebanon is committed to help equip leaders from within the refugee population who will lead their respective families and communities into a brighter future for Syria.
Children in our educational program are also being taught leadership development skills and biblical character traits helping them become servant leaders.
Heart for Lebanon’s commitment is to raise up new communities of faith; loving, caring, forgiving communities lead by Godly leaders. Someday they will return to Syria with God-like character and the skills necessary to help rebuild Syria as Biblical servant leaders.
